Love

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous. It does not brag, does not get puffed up, 5 does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interest, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of the injury. 6 It does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. 7 It bears all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails. But if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away with; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away with.

This has to be one of my favorite scriptures it just softens me up. I love how it says love is not jealous. I never really understood being jealous of someone, especially of friends and family. Also, how love is patient, kind and doesn't look for its own interest and does not get provoked. Most importantly love never fails. I know that’s right lol.

1 Corinthians 13:13 Now, however, these three remain: faith, hope, love; but the greatest is love.

Ephesians 4:2-3 2 With all humility and mildness, with patience, putting up with one another in love, earnestly endeavoring to maintain the oneness of the spirit in the uniting bond of peace.

1 Corinthians 16:14 Let everything you do be done with love.

Colossians 3:14 But besides all things, clothe yourself with love, for it is a perfect bond of union.

John 15:12-13 12 This is my commandment, that you love one another just as I have loved you. 13 No one have love greater than this, that someone should surrender his life in his behalf of his friends.

Proverbs 10:12 Hatred is what stirs up contentions, but love covers over all transgressions.

Proverbs 17:9 Whoever forgives a transgression seeks love, but the one who keeps harping on a matter separates close friends

Romans 5:8 But God recommends his own love to us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 12:9 Let your love be without hypocrisy, abhor what is wicked; cling to what is good.

                      Loving God

John 14:15 "If you love me, you will observe my commandments."

God's ten commandments are 1) you shall have no other gods before me. 2) You shall not make a carved image. 3) You shall not take the Lords name in vain. 4) Remember the Sabbath day, to keep Holy. 5) Honor your father and your mother. 6) you shall not murder. 7) you shall not commit adultery. 8) You shall not steal. 9) You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. 10) You shall not covet your neighbor's house.

If you didn't know what covet meant. It means to have an inordinate or wrongful desires. Inordinate means disorderly. So, to have wrongful desires or want of something your neighbors has, like his house, his car or even his wife.

You can find all of this in Exodus 20:3-17.

                How To LOVE God

1 John 4:19 We love, because he First loved us.

Aww, can I just say this is so beautiful. No matter what we were always loved. Even when you felt like your parents didn't love you God did first and still does.

1 John 4:8 Whoever does not love has not come to know God, because God is love.

If we have nothing but hatred in our hearts and show it a lot. Then you don't know God and his word because he is LOVE.

1 John 2:5 But whoever does observe his word, in this person the love of God has truly been made perfect. By this we know that we are in union.

When we need to study his word and live by it and the love of God has truly been made perfect that way and we'll be in union with God.

Psalm 37:4 Find exquisite delight in Jehovah, and he will grant you the desires of your heart.

1 John 5:3 For this is what the love of God means, that we observe his commandments; and yet his commandments are not burdensome.

So, when we learn his commandments, we shouldn't feel like they are a problem or too much.

Deuteronomy 6:5-6  5 You must love Jehovah your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your strength. 6 These words that I am commanding you today must be on your heart.

We need to give God all we got. Once we get use to his ways. It'll be easy and like second nature. Also, when we fall and make mistakes we'll get back up and try again.

Matthew 6:19-21 " Stop storing up yourselves treasures on the earth, where moth and rust consume and steal. 20 Rather, store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes, and where thieves do not break in and steal 21 For where your treasures is there your heart will be also.

You can't bring your accomplishments and material things with you. So, you must build inside of you, grow with God, be kind and loving, learn the bible and Gods word. You can take that with you a spiritual connection.

1 John 4:20 If anyone says, " I love God." and yet is hating his brother, he is a liar. For the one who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.

If you haven't even seen God in person but yet you seen your brother and your hating him. How could you love God if you haven't seen HIM.

Next, I will be covering loving your neighbor. Email me about your journey or if you have any questions. Love y'all.

   Loving Your Neighbor

These are some examples of how we should love our neighbor's.

Matthew 22:39 The second, like it, is this: 'you must love your neighbor as yourself.'

Leviticus 19:18 " You must not take vengeance nor hold a grudge against the son of your people, and you must love your fellow man as yourself. I am Jehovah.

Sometimes it hard not to hold a grudge. In the long haul it better for you not to. It's a freeing feeling when you let things go.

Matthew 7:12 " All things, therefore, that you want men to do to you, you also must do to them. This, in fact, is what the Law and the Prophets mean.

I'm ashamed to admit. But I use to twist this and if a person was mean or did something to me. I would do the exact same thing. Luckly I've grown. Now I try to lead by example, and I try to be the kinder person.

1 Thessalonians 5:15 See that no one repays injury for injury to anyone, but always pursue what is good towards one another and to all others.

Romans 12:10 In brotherly love have tender affection for one another. In showing honor to one another, take the lead.

Romans 13:10 Love does not work evil to one's neighbor; therefore, love is the law's fulfillment.

Galatians 5:14 For the entire Law has been fulfilled in one commandment, namely: " you must love your neighbor as yourself."

James 2:18 If, now, you carry out the royal law according to the scriptures, " you must love your neighbor as yourself," you are doing well.

It can be hard sometimes, but we must show love to everyone. So we can keep doing well.

John 13:34-35 34 " I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are my disciples - if you have love among yourselves."

1 John 4:7-13 7 Beloved ones, let us continue loving one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born from God and knows God 8 Whoever does not love has not come to know God, because God is love. 9 By this the love of God was revealed in our case, that God sent his only-begotten Son into the world so that we might gain life through him. 10 The love is in this respect, not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a propitiatory sacrifice for our sins. 11 Beloved ones, if this is how God loved us, then we are also under obligation to love one another. 12 No one has seen God at any time. If we continue loving one another, God remains in us and his love is made perfect in us.  13 By this we know that we are remaining in union with him and he in union with us, because he has given his spirit to us.

1 John 4:17-19  17 In this way love has been made perfect in us, so that we may have freeness of speech in the day of judgement, because just as that one is, so are we ourselves in this world. 18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love cast fear out, because fear restrains us. Indeed, the one who is fearful has not been made perfect in love.

1 John 3:23-24  23 Indeed, this is his commandments: That we have faith in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he gave us a commandment. 24 Moreover, the one who observes his commandments remain in union with such one. And by the spirit that he gave us, we know that he remains in union with us.

1 Peter 1:20 Now that you have purified yourselves by your obedience to the truth with unhypocritical brotherly affection as a result, love one another intensely from the heart.

3 John 1:5 Beloved one, you show your faithfulness in what you do for the brothers, even though they are strangers to you.

I hope this gave you some insight of how important it is to love your neighbor and in general.

Sorry, this took me a while to post. I kind of got sidetracked and was looking up 89 scriptures on humbleness. I'll share some of those scriptures before moving on to the topic of Joy.

Reach out if you have any questions or anything. Love Y'all and keep up your journey with God.
